Don’t know which continent or which country/countries to visit? Why not take a look at one or all of the six 'Where to Watch Birds' books written by this website’s author, covering Central America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australasia. They are all many years old of course, published by Helm between 1994 and 2001, but they still provide a starting point, an overview and a guiding light to the best birds and the best places to look for them in each region, and could save hours of searching for similar information on the internet. However, it is important to check more up-to-date sources for sites which have been opened up, sites and species which have been discovered, lodges that have been built etc. since they were published.
